The OceanFlow Method 50 hr CPD course
Where yoga meets the ocean
Are you feeling the creative whisper that you could expand your offerings? Do you love nature and the Ocean? You are doing the most wonderful job of sharing the gift of yoga with the world, yet something inside tells you there are more layers to be uncovered. You understand yoga is so much more than asana, you teach and live all eight limbs as much as you can within your offerings. The self-enquiry, oneness and the understanding that we are nature. But what if you could do even more good on this planet by fully integrating all of this into a ready-made framework that allows you to expand your offerings and grow your business in values-led and very exicting new directions?
The OceanFlow Method™ was created for yoga teachers who feel this call, a 50-hour CPD accredited training that blends yoga, pranayama, and meditation with the wisdom of nature and the Ocean. Through this training, you’ll rediscover your flow, reconnect with your purpose, and learn to guide others toward nature connection and planetary care.
Founded by Professor Leanne Hepburn, marine biologist, speaker, ocean-climate educator, and yoga teacher; this method bridges science and soul, empowering teachers to embody nature and Ocean rhythms and share it through their teaching, retreats, and leadership.
What Makes the Ocean Flow Method Unique
The Ocean Flow Method™ was born from the realised Oneness of Leanne’s great loves. Yoga and the Ocean. As a marine scientist and yoga teacher, this course is the product of twenty years of ocean education and global conservation with the embodied wisdom of yoga.
At its heart is Ocean Literacy, the understanding that the ocean is our planet’s life-support system and that every action, from our breath to our business, ripples outward. Through this training, teachers learn to translate that awareness into tangible ocean-positive action for themselves, their students, and their communities.
Unlike traditional yoga CPDs, the OceanFlow Method integrates:
Blue Mind theory, exploring the neuroscience of water and wellbeing.
Regenerative leadership principles, guiding teachers to design ethical, low-impact, and regenerative retreats.
Yogic philosophy, applied to environmental care and conscious travel.
The result is a framework that bridges science, spirituality, and social impact, empowering yoga teachers to educate, lead, and create real change. It will add new layers of depth to your teaching, offerings and purpose. When you complete this training, you will be ready to guide ethical and responsible retreats, teach with renewed creativity, and inspire ocean-positive action wherever you go.
The OceanFlow Method will expand your business in exciting new directions but it is mostly about what happens when you take this new knowledge, confidence and understanding out into the world, into your community, your collaborations, and see how your contribution grows.
The whisper that you are ready
If you’re here, you’ve already experienced the transformation yoga brings, the way it strengthens, softens, and connects you to a place of peace inside yourself and you want to share this with the world. You understand that we can never fully comprehend the wonderful ripple of effects that come from what we do.
If you love the ocean and the natural world, you might already feel that deeper pull; a desire to take your practice beyond the studio, to share your values in tangible ways, and to contribute to the healing of the planet.
Welcome! You are in the right place. The OceanFlow Method is where that begins. It gives you the tools, the knowledge, and the confidence to unite your teaching with real-world change, not only through your yoga classes, but through partnerships, activism, and community collaboration.
You’ll gain access to a growing network of ocean advocates, NGOs, regenerative venues, and conservation organisations, and discover practical ways to get involved, from running retreats that give back, to joining marine conservation and restoration projects, to partnering with businesses working for nature-positive futures.
This training will help you become an even more inspirational teacher, but you will also become part of a movement, one that ripples from personal wellbeing into planetary care.
We often say that power together begins with power within. The OceanFlow Method helps you cultivate both, awakening the courage and clarity to act for what you love.
This is professional growth for you and your business, but it’s also another layer of transformation; one that extends your teaching into advocacy, collaboration, and change.

Meet Your Instructor
Professor Leanne Hepburn is a lifelong learner and educator with over twenty years experience in ocean science and education. A specialist in tropical coral reef ecosystems, she has devoted her career to understanding and teaching how the ocean sustains all life. Alongside her academic path, Leanne trained as a yoga teacher and soon realised the teachings were the same, just speaking a different language. She is the founder of the Blue Alchemy Academy, where science, spirit, and embodied practice merge to inspire a new generation of nature-connected teachers and leaders.
Leanne created the OceanFlow Method to unite her two great loves - yoga and the ocean, and to help yoga teachers and wellness practitioners use their gifts as a force for regeneration and advocacy. Her mission is to cultivate a global community of yoga teachers who not only share the gift of yoga but also embody the confidence, knowledge, and accountability to act as Ocean and nature advocates. Through classes, retreats, and collaborations, OceanFlow teachers ripple positive change across people and communities, inspiring others to protect and care for our blue planet.
Known for her warm and calming presence, Leanne teaches with creativity, precision, and heart. Her classes offer a steady rhythm, time for pranayama at the beginning, with asana as preparation for stillness. Students describe her teaching as grounding yet expansive, scientific and soulful; a rare blend of technical expertise, spiritual insight, and embodied authenticity. She brings Sanskrit, ocean imagery, and gentle flow together in a way that invites everybody to feel at home in their own natural rhythm.

Why the OceanFlow Method Works
The OceanFlow Method is where science meets spirit, where the rhythms of yoga, the intelligence of the Ocean, and the evidence of modern research converge. It’s designed to help harmonise your nervous system, reconnect with nature, and experience flow as both a physiological and spiritual state.
Developed and taught by Professor Leanne Hepburn, a marine scientist and educator with over twenty years’ experience in Ocean research and teaching, the OceanFlow Method draws on the latest scientific research and the evolving Ocean Literacy Strategy for England, to which Leanne actively contributes. This training integrates academic rigour with embodied learning, guiding you to understand not just why flow matters, but how it works within your body and how we can use this as a force for planetary care.
The course integrates Blue Mind Science, inspired by marine biologist Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, showing how water soothes the nervous system, reduces stress, and enhances creativity. It also explores the science of interoception as our ability to sense the body’s internal landscape, alongside flow state psychology, breath science, and the psychophysiological benefits of yoga and nature connection.
The breathwork components are informed by Leanne’s training with Micheal Biijker, founder of one of the most respected breathwork schools. Throughout the course, you’ll also meet guest breathwork and meditation teachers, each bringing their own expertise to help you deepen your practice.
Philosophically, the OceanFlow Method honours the lineages and cultural roots of yoga, and draws on the teachings of Satish Kumar, whose philosophy of “We Are Nature” reminds us that wellbeing and planetary care are inseparable. This understanding runs through every module: when we reconnect with the Ocean and breath, we remember that we are not separate from nature, but part of its continuous flow.
The result is a training that speaks to both hemispheres of the brain, the rational and the intuitive, and helps you experience what true flow feels like: calm, connected, creative, and alive.
The OceanFlow Method works because it aligns body, mind and ocean, restoring balance within us and around us.
Are you ready to join the wave?
The OceanFlow Method will help you deepen your teaching, expand your impact, and reconnect to the rhythm of the ocean, and to yourself. You’ll emerge grounded, inspired, and part of a growing community of yoga teachers using their practice as a force for regeneration and change.
This is your moment to flow with purpose. Enrol now and be part of a global movement of teachers leading with love, science, and the spirit of the sea.
